Robert D. Lamson, PhD

Robert Lamson has over 35 years senior international executive experience. Since 1977 Dr. Lamson has been CEO or COO in the development of four successful business ventures. He has led executive teams for both large and small companies involving a wide range of products from high tech medical diagnostics equipment to household appliances. His business development and marketing expertise includes retail sales and direct response marketing, particularly TV infomercials for which he was a pioneer. He has developed successful business alliances involving companies in Europe, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
Dr. Lamson is a co-founder of CMI Worldwide, for which he served as CEO from 1995 until sold to Salton, Inc. in 2001. CMI developed a web-enabled entertainment center for the kitchen, the ICEBOX, which is currently the leading product in Salton’s BEYOND digital home product line. With the sale of CMI to Salton Dr. Lamson served as the General Manager of BEYOND until he left for a recent six month consulting assignment as acting CEO of Depo Computers.
Previously Dr. Lamson was second in command with the Consulting Division of Boeing Computer Sciences, Inc. He began his career in 1967 as a defense economist at the Institute for Defense Analyses in Washington D.C.
Dr. Lamson is a 1964 cum laude graduate of Yale University in Economics and received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Washington in 1968. He is co-author of a book on national business and economic issues, Beyond Guns and Butter (Brassey’s Macmillan, 1991)
